General Description[edit | edit source]
Spring Chicken is an Item that can be found within common locations, including choice enemy Camps, given by Spouses, and rarely as a reward from Seasonal Festivals. Upon being picked up, all of the player's current and Chickens and Turkeys will be able to create Flowers from Weeds. This occurs at a 50% chance whenever they peck at a given Weed. Should the chance not activate then they will destroy the Weed like normal. Even with this 50% chance this Item effectively allows for Chickens and Turkeys to become a source of Flowers. Note that the given Flower spawned is completely random and does not depend on the specific type of Weed pecker.
Comparison[edit | edit source]
Compared to other means of generating Flowers, Spring Chicken is among the most effortless, as it requires limited action on the player's part in order to be utilized. This is due to how Chickens and Turkeys will preform their jobs automatically without the player's influence. However, it does rely on the player possessing enough Chickens and Turkeys in order to make this Item as profitable as possible. This can be assisted by the means of Egg Carton and Fertile Eggs, making an excellent combo in that regard. However, because of how there is only a 50% chance for a Weed to be turned into a Flower this can potentially make it inferior to other Flower generating Items. An example of this is Hipbees, which also allows for certain Farm Animals to convert Weeds into Flowers, in this case Bees and Hummingbirds. However, unlike Spring Chicken, Hipbees has a guaranteed chance to activate instead of only a 50% chance. Depending on the player's availability of Bees and Hummingbirds, Hipbees can potentially be superior to Spring Chicken because of that. As such, Spring Chicken is dependent on the player's current variety and amount of Farm Animals, and also if or how they plan to gain more of those specific Farm Animals in the future.
