The Mysterious Flower is a Golden Pupa loot Item that randomly gives Fertilizer and can revive the player if they die.

General Description[edit | edit source]

The Mysterious Flower is an Item that can only be found in the form of Golden Pupa loot. Upon being picked up, a large, green flower bud will spawn on the player's Farm next to their well. Sometimes it will occasionally open up and begin spewing out large chunks of free Fertilizer for the player to collect. The interval that this is done is rather long between each opening. If the player were to die at any point during their run after acquiring this Item they will be teleported back to their Farm and be revived. However, should this occur the player will immediately lose all of their max health except one and instantly destroy the Mysterious Flower, making it unable to be utilized further. To help make up for the former attribute, this Item will drop one Heart Beet Seeds per max health lost. For example, if a player were to die with nine max health then the Mysterious Flower would provide nine Heart Beet Seeds should they be revived.

Comparison[edit | edit source]

Compared to all other Items, the Mysterious Flower is the only one capable of reviving the player, and as such has an edge over other means of staying alive. In addition, it can be consistently relied upon to preform its job unless it has already been destroyed. However, as a source of Heart Beet Seeds it is not ideal, due to cost of losing most of the players max health. Regardless of the amount of Heart Beets provided, this Item will likely be unable to provide enough free health to make up for the cost of the resurrection. Furthermore, as a source of Fertilizer it is rather subpar when compared to other sources, such as Avian Placenta or Companion Planting. This is due to the amount provided per each opening of the flower can easily be made up for through these other means. This coupled with the facts of there being long durations of time between each opening and that it can be destroyed only further decreases this Item's reliability as a Fertilizer source. Because of this, the Fertilizer capabilities of this Item should be seen as an additional bonus rather than the main perk.
